When we think of Martyn we inevitably think of our times in Newcastle with him and Janet. Martyn just loved climbing and walking in the Mournes. We would meet him afterwards down in Newcastle for coffee and scones. He was a great connoisseur of scones!! He tried all the cafes in Newcastle, and there are many' and let us know where to find the biggest and the best scones!!

Those were good times and Martyn was a good friend. Also he was one of life's true gentlemen - always helping me on with my coat, etc when we visited. 

It was a privilege to know Martyn and he will be sadly missed.
